Concordia, Texas update – Legal records filed with the State of Texas – reveal desires to be free of LCMS oversight… NOW updated with May 2022 records to show this was planned…

The following is the public filing at the Texas Secretary of State’s office. Please take note of the November 8 2022 filed Amendments to the Articles of Incorporation (note what is added and what is removed, especially in relation to the oversight/rule of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod).

Here is the filing.

UPDATE – Here is a photo of a notice sent to the IRS in May 2022 (note early timing) that states that President Don Christian directed the IRS to no longer consider Concordia Texas under the LCMS’s group ruling exemption.

  1. I know that this comment does not belong here, but I’ll leave it here and ask you to move it to the appropriate venue, or if you delete it, then so be it. I have been following some of the discussion about Concordia U.-Austin with interest (for some time now – again!), albeit my interest is again disturbed. It has been a disappointment that the Congregations Matter Crew (CMC) has been trying to undermine our current administration — they have every right to do so, of course, but what bothers me is when this or any other organization does not “win” their point of view, they now resort to complaining about others. Yes, I know that’s the way of our sinful world, and that we in the Church are certainly as big of sinners as those in the world, but . . . I just do not see how the CMC can now complain openly and try to intimidate others of us into NOT using the United List. This is CMC’s version of “unity?” Let’s all call for the unity of doctrine and practice (it’s a wonderful Lutheran notion!), and then see what the Lord would do with us. It’s not old fashioned but remains relevant for the Church in every age. It’s just the right thing (or so I think). Brothers in the CMC, please knock it off. Fraternally, /s/ a retired pastor
