Coming up in a little over a month, the new Church Year gets started with Advent. It is a very common thing to have a midweek service in the congregation with a special theme. This year, for Steadfast in the Parish (which helps produce those great Gospel Notes which are very popular) has put together an Advent theme around four “solas” of the Reformation. These will tie both Advent and the Reformation together in a way to help congregations in their Reformation 500 experience as well. A devotion will be ready in the middle of November for congregational use. Beneath you will find a rough outline for a midweek service schedule (based around four midweeks this year since Christmas is on Sunday).
