“Steadfast Throwdown” Hits the Airwaves

FB-ThrowdownCoverImageAfter three months in the making, the weekly program “Steadfast Throwdown” is now hitting the airwaves on KNGN, AM 1360, broadcasting from McCook, Nebraska, and on Pirate Christian Radio. Co-hosts Pr. Eric Andersen and Pr. Randy Asburry seek to confess the truth of God’s Word, fight the good fight of the faith, and give the smack down to false teaching.

The first episode of “Steadfast Throwdown” will debut on KNGN on Monday, March 10 at 11:00am (CT). Andersen and Asburry will interview Pr. Joshua Scheer from steadfastlutherans.org, and then will “throw down” against the “Pagan Lies” related to Ash Wednesday and Lent. Pr. Joseph Abrahamson will be the guest for that segment.

Episode 1, “Pagan Lies,” is now available for on-demand listening at kngn.org. To listen, click on “Steadfast Throwdown” in the “Listen” column.

  1. I want to thank Pastors Asburry and Andersen for the opportunity to speak on Steadfast Throwdown. During the program I was intending to use the word “conceived” when speaking about the Ancient Church holding that Christ was conceived on March 25th. But, my mouth wasn’t in sync with my brain at the time, and I mistakenly said “born” two different times. The ancient church celebrated Christ’s birth on December 25th from before the end of the 2nd century. Please see the documentation at [https://steadfastlutherans.org/?p=34380] They believed he was conceived on the Passover, which they concluded would have been March 25th Julian for the time they calculated His birth. They also equated this day with the first day of Creation. Liturgically they celebrated Light of the world (John 1) coming into this world on the same liturgical day for Passover and the Word “Let there Be Light.” I’m sorry for the confusion my misspeaking may have caused.

  2. I still say the voice at the beginning should sound like Randy “Macho Man” Savage. ๐Ÿ˜€

    But it’s kickin’

  3. Devin, “Steadfast Throwdown” is already available for on-demand listening. Just go to kngn.org, and under the “Listen” column, click on “Steadfast Throwdown.” There you can download the audio in order to listen at your convenience. As for being available as a podcast through iTunes, not at this time. Maybe someday when we have financial support and can budget for that service. ๐Ÿ™‚
