BJS Chapters Serve Others – Bethany Naperville Chapter Puts on Lenten Soup Supper

One of the goals of BJS chapters is to do service work in the congregation. It certainly gives BJS some positive publicity but the two more important goals of this service are to share the love of Christ and   to organize men to participate in the life of the congregation.

The chapter at Bethany – Naperville, Illinois did just that tonight by hosting the last of the season’s Lenten soup suppers. We had fourteen men and women show up to help. The group got a little carried away with testosterone and started talking about heading fifteen miles south to challenge the chapter from St. Paul – Lockport to a rumble but chose the higher thing and decided to end the evening by joining the congregation for  a moving singing of evening prayer led by Cantor Magness.
