LCMS President Matt Harrison to be Keynote Speaker at Brothers of John the Steadfast Annual Conference in February

September 30th, 2010 Post by

From the BJS Newsreel: The BJS conference is only in its third year but is already known for its stellar list of speakers including Todd Wilken, Chris Rosebrough, Mollie Ziegler-Hemingway and Klemet Preus. We have also been graced by sermons from two District Presidents, Dan Gilbert (NID) and Herbert Mueller (SID, now 1st Vice President of the LCMS). We are now very pleased to add to that list recently elected LCMS President, Matthew Harrison.

President Harrison will be speaking at the banquet on Friday evening. BJS members and non members who register for the two day conference will get premium seating for the banquet. It will also be open to those who simply want to come for the banquet on Friday evening. Interested Lutherans from southern Wisconsin, northwest Indiana and Eastern Iowa are welcome to join the Chicago-land region folks who will enjoy a fine meal, pleasing entertainment and an address by the president. There will also be BJS’ers from all around the country in attendance. Past attendees have come from as far away as Florida and Washington state.

The conference is scheduled on its usual date, the second weekend of February and will be at Bethany Lutheran Church, Naperville, Illinois (western suburb of Chicago). The conference will begin late Friday afternoon, February 11 and continue through Saturday afternoon, February 12. In keeping with its already rich history, the conference will include the best in liturgical worship, speakers and hospitality.

More details, conference registration forms and banquet ticket information will be forthcoming.

This event is a great opportunity for pastors and laymen to organize a BJS chapter in their congregation and bring a contingent to the conference. Information is available on the Organization page of this website.

    Dutch,

I was thinking that would be a good opportunity too. Think a couple WELSians might register and attend the conference? Blessings.

    Perry,
I think it’s safe to say, one or two WELS Confessional Lutherans will be there. WELS CL’s come here, and are most gratefull for the opportunities & information at BJS, at least I am!
If we can swing it, we’ll be there.

Just when I thought there was no way you could improve on the quality of speakers from the previous 2 years! We’ll be there. Thank you in advance for all the work that goes into this event.

    Kevin,

We look forward to seeing you again!

We are having our first planning meeting tomorrow. As with the last two years, many from our day school teaching staff will be helping out again. We are very blessed to have a great staff!
