Welcome to a new Associate Editor – Pastor Andrew Packer

The past few months have been rather busy on the organizational side of the Brothers of John the Steadfast (or Steadfast Lutherans).  We have restarted much of the organization, including having a new Board of Directors.  At our first meeting, we discussed bringing on another Associate Editor to assist Pr. Eric Anderson and I in the task.  We decided to find a man who has the reputation for being a dead orthodox Lutheran and also a conscientious workhorse.  We unanimously decided to ask Pr. Andrew Packer to come in as both author and Associate Editor.  Upon consideration, Pastor Packer agreed to come on board.

Pastor Packer will help out the blog side of the organization which will free me to help in a couple other projects that will be unrolling in the coming year.  It has also allowed me to zero in on working with Pastor Hull on our 2017 Conference (FEB 17-18, 2017 in Tomball, Texas).  Stay tuned as our major announcement on that will be coming soon.

  1. “a man who was a dead orthodox Lutheran”

He subscribes to dead orthodoxy then?

    Perhaps someone could explain.

  2. Pagosa Springs, eh?

Lived down the street from you for two years right out of school, in Del Norte. My wife and I loved to come up the hill for a swim in your area. Beautiful country!

  3. BJS couldn’t do better than Pastor Packer! He’s a great pastor to me and my family, to my congregation and to our community. He’ll be great in this position too.

  4. Welcome Pastor Packer. You’re joining the ranks of some great writers, but then you already know that. Pastors Packer and McKinley were instrumental in my husband Tom and me finally moving to a conservative confessional LC-MS church. We continue to be blessed at Our Savior Lutheran in Pagosa Springs, CO when we are lucky enough to be there! Looking forward to great reading.

  5. When Pastor Jordan McKinley was our Vicar at OSLC and took a call elsewhere, well there were lots of tears, but I will never forget his words to me concerning Pastor Packer, “You just hit a grand slam!” Yep, BJS, you just hit a grand slam!
