Dear Readers of BJS,
I had the opportunity to present on the state of creation and evolution in the LCMS this past spring. The videos of the presentations are now up. Presenters included a few District Presidents and also seminary professors. I was one of the only parish pastors to present. My presentation was a very frank and forthright look at what I see are some of the main problems happening within the LCMS.

My presentation on my concerns about Creation and Evolution in the LCMS
You gave a very good and faithful presentation. One point you made that sticks out to me is that we need to be on guard against arrogance in the LCMS. It is certainly a sin I often struggle with and need to repent of. Thanks for your witness.
Thank you for your reference to (James 4:4), that friendship with the world is enmity towards God. The idea of finding a way to harmonize Scripture and scientific conclusions about origins is very appealing, isn’t it? It seems like the rational and kind approach that Christians should be known for. “Can’t we all get along?”, is the mantra that effuses us and our desire for Christ’s peace and tranquility.
Notwithstanding, the Church is indeed an adulteress when it seeks harmony with the world against the clear teachings of Scripture. It is a false peace, a false tranquility. Thankfully, there are pastors and theologians such as yourself, Dr. Heck, Dr. Edmon and others who see the errors clearly, and fight diligently to be men of character and backbone to handle the word of God ‘accurately’ (2 Tim. 2:15).
These errors, false teachings, and false teachers must be exposed for the wolves in sheep’s clothing that they are (Acts 20:28-31), (Matt. 7:15). The doctrines of Creation, the Fall, and Curse are too important to sublimate to unregenerate man’s opinions about his origins.
