Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” (Matthew 28:18). God has put all things under His feet and gave Him as the head of the church (Ephesians 1:22). Therefore, sacramental minions seek the blessing promised by Christ when He says, “Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes” (Luke 12:43). Sacramental minions seek to be faithful as “as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God,” not seeking to do things according to our own designs, desires, and will, but being faithful to the express commands Christ has given us through His Holy Apostles as they are laid out in the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 4:1-2), and trusting Him to give growth to His church (1 Corinthians 3:6) through the means He has established (Cxref. Augsburg Confession, Article V) just as He did during the days following Pentecost (Acts 2:42ff).
