Our Troops Armed with the Truth Thanks to Your Contributions

LSB and LSC @ Bragram, Afgh chapel. Many thanks from Ch. James Buckman and Deaconess Carolyn Brinkley to all of you who have so graciously and generously responded to the request for LSBs and Catechisms for AFCENT bases from the Horn of Africa, through the Persian Gulf and up into the Stans. Your response has been amazing!

We invite you to rejoice with us in the establishment of our LSBs and Catechisms at AFCENT chapels in Qatar, Afghanistan, Jordan and two undisclosed locations with more requests coming from other chaplains. These LSBs and LSCs will be used for many years by many denominations. This has been an unprecedented open window to scatter the seeds of Christ’s mercy to those who defend our country’s freedoms and may perhaps even spread to the indigenous people where our bases reside.

FYI the military personnel in the picture are at Bagram and have just received the shipment. They are not LCMS or Lutheran and neither are the chaplains who are requesting our LSBs throughout the Mid-East. Chaplains of various denominations are embracing our LSB for its liturgy, Psalms, and hymns with Scriptural references.

Though the deadline for contributions was changed to July 15 and is now closed, there will be other opportunities as more LCMS chaplains are deployed and will be needing LSBs. Please keep the Concordia Theological Seminary’s Military Project in mind. For updates contact Deaconess Carolyn Brinkley. [email protected]

Most likely, this side of Heaven we won’t see the fruits of your generous gifts, but we are promised by the Holy Spirit that there will be blessing as His Word brings the mercy of Christ to suffering hearts. Many, many thanks! The Lord Jesus be with you.

  1. Thank you to all who contributed to this effort from an Army mom of two soldiers stationed in Afghanistan.
