Steadfast Media Pick of the Week — An Office Pick

An Office Pick

With the Office of the Holy Ministry being a hot topic right now, I chose a lecture by Dr. Ken Korby to the Southern Illinois District found on Pr. David Peterson’s site. I tried to clean them up and assemble them into coherent parts as best as I could. There were sections missing due, I’m assuming, to limits of the recording technology available.

Dr. Korby starts by giving some background information on himself including his love for Russian literature, his pastoral exile, and his fight to spread the practice of private confession and absolution. He expresses concern for a lack of critical scholarship on the writing of C.F.W. Walther. Then he ventures into Church and the Office of the Ministry discussing rite vocatus, Augsburg Confession XIV, and Smalcald Articles 3:12.
