Campus Ministry Announcement

Text from Facebook:

Join us in upholding in prayer Pastor Ian Pacey, Pastor Jay Winters and Pastor Marcus Zill, new campus ministry coordinators for the LCMS affirmed today in chapel. We pray the Lord blesses their efforts to strengthen and support campus ministry, a vital lifeline for Lutheran students on college campuses.

Here is the actual story from the LCMS Reporter released today.

This is coming in the wake of ULC being evicted by their district and having their home church building destroyed.  I would call this some fruit of the attention that campus ministry has had as a result of the ULC situation.  I can speak of  Rev. Marcus Zill, who will be the Coordinator of Campus Ministry at the Office of National Mission (and still remain the campus pastor at St. Andrew’s in Laramie Wyoming, a wonderful campus ministry of the Wyoming District).  He is in my circuit and is a good man for the job, a very faithful Lutheran pastor who cares deeply about the care of college students’ souls.  Some of you may remember that he has been the Christ on Campus head for Higher Things also.  He has been and will continue to be a great champion for the future of faithful Lutheran campus ministries.

LCMS International Center Chaplain William Weedon affirms Pastor Jay Winters (l), Pastor Ian Pacey (middle) and Pastor Marcus Zill (r) as campus ministry coordinators for the LCMS.
