Bulletin Insert and Conference Reminder from the ACELC

Here’s a note from ACELC — the release of a bulletin insert to help explain the work of the ACELC, as well as a reminder about their conference on Feb 7th through 9th (found on the Lutheran Calendar from BJS here).

Dear Friends,

We recently released a Bulletin Insert that you might find helpful in your congregation to explain the work of the ACELC. If you are a pastor and are trying to promote our work (or stimulate positive conversation about our work), please download this insert and see if it’s something you might be able to use. If you are a layman and are trying to interest your pastor or congregation in what we’re doing, we’d like to encourage you to take a look at this document and show it to your pastor or others in your congregation, perhaps your pastor might be willing to put it in your bulletin or newsletter. Here’s the link:

Secondly, I’m sure by now you already know about our Conference. We are expecting a nice turnout this year and would encourage you to submit an electronic registration form as soon as possible to assist us in our planning. You can send in the printed form later, but we would most certainly be appreciative if you would let us know via the online registration that you’re planning to be with us. Here are the links to do that. And of course, please feel free to pass this information along to everyone you know.

About Norm Fisher

Norm was raised in the UCC in Connecticut, and like many fell away from the church after high school. With this background he saw it primarily as a service organization. On the miracle of his first child he came back to the church. On moving to Texas a few years later he found a home in Lutheranism when he was invited to a confessional church a half-hour away by our new neighbors.

He is one of those people who found a like mind in computers while in Middle School and has been programming ever since. He's responsible for many websites, including the Book of Concord, LCMSsermons.com, and several other sites.

He has served the church in various positions, including financial secretary, sunday school teacher, elder, PTF board member, and choir member.

More of his work can be found at KNFA.net.

  1. An update from ACELC:

    Dear Friends

We’ve had some folks ask us if there was a way to get in contact with others who might want to share lodging or transportation for the upcoming Conference in Lincoln. So, if you would like to find someone with whom to share a room, or if you would like to share lodging, please send a note to [email protected] and advise us that you would like to make contact with someone about this. We will then add your name to the chat list and you can then get in contact with anyone else who may be in the same boat. Doing it this way will allow you to speak directly with one another and work out the arrangements between yourselves!

We pray this will be helpful to those of you who have this need.

    Yours In Christ’s Service,
    ACELC Board of Directors

P.S. If you are looking for more information on this Conference you can find it right at the top of the ACELC Homepage. We hope that a lot of you will be able to join us for this exciting Conference.
