Brothers and sisters in Christ,

Another month has flown by. Where does the time go? We are looking forward to Thanksgiving, and then Advent begins, when we look and wait for Jesus. Not just to celebrate His coming to us in the flesh the first time, but we also are waiting for His final return. Come Lord Jesus, come!

A Retreat is planned again this coming winter, Feb 26th, at Lutheran Island Camp in Henning, MN. The topic this year will be our “Vocation.” This will be an interesting topic, as I know we can all learn more about what is meant for us in our vocations. Look for more info to come on it in the very near future. Rev Dr Karl Weber from St John’s Ottertail, MN, will be teaching it again this year.

Several seminars are scheduled for the winter months; one seminar in TX, two in CA and one in WA. If you’d like to get a seminar scheduled for your congregation, please get in touch with us. We’re scheduling for the spring now. A rewrite of Lesson 3 of the evangelism seminar is in progress and will be available for 2011 seminars. Check our web site on all the available topics we offer. www.theclcc.org

A Regional Conference is being planned for May 3 & 4, 2011, in Bloomington, MN at the Ramada, Mall of America. This will precede the ACL Conference by one day, so we hope you’ll come for the CLCC Conference and also stay for the ACL that takes place May 4-6, 2011. Watch for more details on speakers and topics to come soon. Pr Rob Jarvis has volunteered to head the planning for this conference. We need more help for this effort, so if you are able to assist him, you can reach him at [email protected]. Thank you.

CLCC member Karina Lindsey is hard at work on the Circuit Convocation initiative that was recently approved by the Board of Directors. She is the project manager for this initiative and is preparing the material packages that will be ready for ordering soon, with delivery scheduled for early January. Perhaps she will have a write up for us in the next Anchor.

We discovered in October that the “Contact Us” page on our web site was not working. We are very sorry about any inconvenience this may have caused you. If you tried to contact us and were unable to, please try again.

The CLCC is participating in the Thrivent Choice Dollars Program. We hope you will consider the CLCC as the charity of your choice to receive the money you earned through owning certain Thrivent products. Thrivent will notify you if you qualify for the program so if you missed the notification, or changed your mind, look for Choice Dollars on the Thrivent Website. If you don’t designate a charity Thrivent decides where your earned dollars will go. We have had three people choose the CLCC so far, and have received $599.00. Thank you to those of you that participated. We appreciate it. The money is used to help defray seminar expenses so we can keep costs as low so people can afford to attend.

The 2011 budget has been prepared and distributed to the CLCC Leadership for review and any needed modifications. On November 29, the BOD will adopt any final changes and approve the budget for next year. This will be our third budget and will show and increase of income and expenses as our training efforts continue to expand.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for; our family, friends, vocations, homes, toys, etc. And especially a country that allows us the freedom to worship the One True God. I’m thankful we have such a gracious God, that He sent His one and only Son to save us! Thanks be to God!
