“#1 LCMS Handicapper” to Serve on Panel for Joint BJS Chapter Gathering in Chicago Suburbs, by Pr. Rossow

On Saturday October 23 at 9 AM there will be a joint meeting of two Chicago suburban chapters of The Brothers of John the Steadfast. The get-together will include a manly breakfast and a panel discussion on where the LCMS is headed. It will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, Naperville, Illinois. The two participating chapters are Bethany Lutheran – Naperville and St. Paul Lutheran – Lockport. It is open to anyone who would like to attend, including non-BJS members and women.

Serving on the panel is a friend who I consider to be the “#1 LCMS Handicapper,” Pastor Roger Gallup of River Grove, Illinois. I have given him that honorific title because I know of no one else in the synod who understands so much about our denomination nor who knows so many people from all different persuasions in the synod. These are interesting days in the LCMS and it will be good for the brothers and sisters to benefit from the knowledge and insight of Rev. Gallup. Also serving on the panel will be Cantor Phillip Magness of Bethany Lutheran who was recently elected to the synod’s International Mission Board and who has travelled the synod extensively as a conference speaker and musician for Doxology conferences around the country. Rounding out the panel is yours truly, the Executive Director/Chairman of the Board of the Brothers of John the Steadfast and Editor of this website.

If you are within reasonable driving distance to the western suburbs of Chicago make plans to join us for a wonderful morning of good food, camraderie and a lively discussion on the future of the LCMS.

  1. Rossow-
you have chosen opening day for Fall Turkey shotgun hunting in the land of Lincoln. You have to check the DNR schedule before you plan these things.

  2. Steven Anderson :
Now, Brother Ball: There are some things that are more important than blowing up bits of God’s creation.

Like eating ’em for breakfast! *burp*
