Issues Etc, Schwarz Kids have a Special Tribute to President Elect Harrison, by Pr. Rossow

One of the goals of the Brothers of John the Steadfast is to support new Lutheran media. Issues, Etc. is our favorite and currently our only new Lutheran media service group that we are supporting. Producer Jeff Scwharz’ children have joined the growing number of folks who are growing mustaches in honor of the big guy’s cookie duster. What will it be next, banjos and arrows through the head?

Issues Etc, Schwarz Kids have a Special Tribute to President Elect Harrison, by Pr. Rossow — 19 Comments

  1. I think he means to keep it where it is, but bring it back to the KFUO airwaves. Todd and Jeff have said in the past they would be willing to do so at no charge to KFUO.

  2. The synod should restore Pastor Wilken’s and Mr. Schwarz’s positions, with official apologies.

  3. @mbw #6

ABSOLUTELY! With an apology to both of them, all those involved with production, etc., and to all of us around the world who listen to Issues, Etc.

  4. Great pics! From a parent to his children and a pastor to hundreds of people like us! Issues Etc…Teaching the next generation of Lutherans!!!

  5. Bring back Classical Music to KFUO AM LIKE THEY HAD BEFORE. Yes there was no stero but this is what is known as MUSIC. THE JUNK THEY HAVE ON 99.1 IS NO WHERE TO BE COMPARED WITH WHAT THEY HAVE IN THE LIBRARY, OR IN THE ARCHIVES. JUST TRY AND SEE WHAT AUDIENCE YOU WILL HAVE. PEOPLE OUT HERE MISS IT AND THAT IS NOT A JOKE!

I dare you to try….someone please!

Hi sumbody – what they are playing on classic99.com _is_ from the library and archives.

Are you talking about AM 850, or Classic99 ?

Just wanting to clarify … I recently proposed to AM 850 that they add some liturgical and classical material and I am hoping to hear back on that.

I hope we will encourage our new leaders to nurture KFUO and give it proper pastoral supervision once again.

  7. I’m talking about what AM has in their archives and the the music that has been turned over from FM. Don’t really listen to KFUO AM anymore they can keep what they call music. It was great when they had the Sems Chapel services. That has been long gone.

  8. KFUO needs to be sort out its accounting issues and start reporting financial information to the public. Until then there is NO accountability. I hope that Wilken and Schwarz will stay away from KFUO until this problem is resolved. The lack of financial accountability the real root of the problem that led to the cancellation of Issues, Etc.

  9. Eveyone needs to note that at today’s session–Saturday, July 17th–a resolution was passed that will require an audit of all agencies of the synod including the president’s and VP’s offices. What #17 requested will be done as KFUO is one of the agencies of the LCMS. This was also passed that both individual members and congregations of the synod would receive the report!!

  10. Wally,

You wrote, “KFUO needs to be sort out its accounting issues…”

Now that KFUO FM is no longer books blurring the financial lines between the FM and the AM, that should be very simple.
