Upcoming Seminars by the Confessional Lutherans for Christ’s Commission

(The CLCC is one of the many confessional groups that regularly posts on this website. Like BJS they seek to equip laymen to know and support Confessional Lutheranism. CLCC posts are archived on the Regular Columns page of this website. These upcoming events have been added to the Lutheran Calendar in the right sidebar; click here to add an event to the calendar.)

The CLCC has several seminars scheduled for 2010, including some in new states we have never been before. Please consider becoming a member to help support the work we do, which is to teach the laity to understand and appreciate “being Lutheran” again.

About Norm Fisher

Norm was raised in the UCC in Connecticut, and like many fell away from the church after high school. With this background he saw it primarily as a service organization. On the miracle of his first child he came back to the church. On moving to Texas a few years later he found a home in Lutheranism when he was invited to a confessional church a half-hour away by our new neighbors.

He is one of those people who found a like mind in computers while in Middle School and has been programming ever since. He's responsible for many websites, including the Book of Concord, LCMSsermons.com, and several other sites.

He has served the church in various positions, including financial secretary, sunday school teacher, elder, PTF board member, and choir member.

More of his work can be found at KNFA.net.

Upcoming Seminars by the Confessional Lutherans for Christ’s Commission — 2 Comments

  1. We are also sponsoring a retreat to be held at Lutheran Island Camp in Henning MN, on Feb 26-27th. The retreat is called “Lutheran Difference:Gifts of the Liturgy”. It will be taught by Rev. Dr. Karl Weber from Ottertail, MN. It will teach the history the liturgy, as well as how doctrine and practice go together. As we learn more its easier to tell other people why we as Lutherans worship as we do.

We have a rate for Friday-Sat including room and meals, and a Saturday only rate that includes lunch and dinner. More details will be out soon. I know this will be a fun and informative event! We’ll start on Friday at 7:00 PM with an opening session by Rev Dr Karl Weber, then an evening service led by Rev. Rob Jarvis, followed with fellowship. Saturday will be a very informative day, with meals provided and we’ll close the day after dinner with a closing service led by Rev Rob Jarvis.

I hope you’ll think about attending one of the above listed events. If there is none in your area of the country, why don’t you consider hosting one at your church? We’re booking for spring and summer 2010 now.
