Web Site Update Coming Soon

Over the past few weeks we have been updating the Brothers of John the Steadfast website to a newer, fresher looking version. We think the new look will make our site much easier to read and hopefully let us make it easier to post and organize articles on our site.

In addition to it being designed for a wider screen (90% of our users now have more than 800 pixels wide screen; restricting us to 800 pixels wide was just a tad limiting), it also lets us make use of some better looking features that you have seen on some of the other websites, such as quoting information from other locations. Internally it also makes it easier for us to post pictures and manage things, and gives us more flexibility on what we can put on pages or posts.

We will have to take the site down for a few minutes, and/or things may operate oddly for a bit while we are in the midst of upgrading the site. We will do the upgrade in a way that should lose no comments, but .. if you are writing a comment at the time the site goes down, and take several minutes to compose it, then click “submit” after it is down, it’s possible that your comment might be lost. Therefore, please attempt to save a copy of comments that you submit until you see the new site has gone live.

My current plan is to upgrade the site sometime between 11 and 1AM tonight, hoping to do it at a time that shouldn’t catch anyone writing a comment.
