Changes to Your Website – Search Box and “Related Articles” Features Added for Your Convenience

Two items have been added to the Brothers of John the Steadfast site that we wanted to call your attention to.

In the right sidebar is now a search box that looks like the following:

Type a word or phrase in it and click “Search” and the BJS site will be searched for that term. We are using Google Custom Search Engine to implement the search. As always with Google, you can include a phrase in quotes and it will search for that phrase. People have been asking for this for quite a while, so hopefully you will find it useful to find articles you are looking for on our site.

While it’s been there for a while, I don’t think we have brought attention to our “Related Posts” section that appears in the right sidebar as well. This shows the last ten or so posts that are in the same category as the article you are currently reading. For example, while reading one of Mollie’s articles, this will show the 10 most recent articles written by her. This may make it easier to find other articles in a series, or articles that are similar to the current one.

Lastly, we recently added a listing of our BJS Steering Committee members so you can find who is managing the Brothers of John the Steadfast organization. This page is off of our “Contact Us” at the bottom of any page on this site, and is also linked from “The Organization” link on the top bar.

As always, we welcome your input on how to make the site easier to use for you, our reading public. Feel free to comment to us if you have an idea or suggestion.

About Norm Fisher

Norm was raised in the UCC in Connecticut, and like many fell away from the church after high school. With this background he saw it primarily as a service organization. On the miracle of his first child he came back to the church. On moving to Texas a few years later he found a home in Lutheranism when he was invited to a confessional church a half-hour away by our new neighbors.

He is one of those people who found a like mind in computers while in Middle School and has been programming ever since. He's responsible for many websites, including the Book of Concord,, and several other sites.

He has served the church in various positions, including financial secretary, sunday school teacher, elder, PTF board member, and choir member.

More of his work can be found at
