Breaking News: Pastor Wilken to Speak at the National BJS Gathering in February

Pastor Todd Wilken, host of the radio show Issues, Etc. will speak at the second day of the two day national gathering of the Brothers of John the Steadfast this coming February. The theme of the conference is “Courageous Lutherans in the 21st Century” and we humbly welcome two of the most courageous Lutherans as our speakers. Joining Pastor Wilken is the creator of Pirate Christian Radio (the host network for Issues, Etc.) Chris Rosebrough. Chris will not only speak about his pioneering work in internet Christian radio but will also share with us his journey from evangelicalism to Lutheranism.

The conference will be at Bethany Lutheran Church and School in the Chicago suburb of Naperville. A detailed schedule of the conference and registraton information will be posted in the next few days. It  includes a full Vespers service, the Divine Service, a selection of “No Pietists Allowed Parties” at local hangouts (pick your poison: cigars, Irish pub, wine tasting, a chocolate cafe, etc.), a pizza banquet (where we will once and for all decide which is best, Chicago, New York, or St. Louis style pizza), and a manly high-cholestorol breakfast. There will also be time for a workout in our full size gymnasium for those who wish to work off the bacon. Even though we are a mens group women are welcome to join the group and join us for the conference as well. Non members of the group are also welcome to come to the gathering.

Save February 13-14 on your calendars and join us in the Chicago suburbs. It is an inexpensive flight to nearby Midway Airport on Southwest Airlines. We will have a free  shuttle service available for as many as we can accomodate. Hope to see you in February…
