Lent – Let charity prevail – give to help a family of eight who lost everything in a fire.

March 5th, 2014 Post by

gods-loveReaders of BJS – every once in a while we ask you to consider supporting situations of need.  This is one of those times.   An LCMS family of 8 just lost their home to a fire on Thursday, Feb 27.  The Wolf family could use your support at this time of need.  Please pray for them.  Please consider donating to help.

On a personal note, I am very thankful at all the generous donations that poured in from around Synod after our home was destroyed by fire in December, especially from my home church, my former vicarage parish and the brothers from Doxology. I’m sure this family is still in shock and in a time of great stress. We’re still finding little things we have forgotten to replace after several months. Even though we had to replace all of our “stuff”, it’s just “stuff”. The loving prayers and concern offered to us were very encouraging. Like Job, it seems we are more blessed now than before. Even small gifts and cards to this family would be greatly appreciated.
