New Confessional Reading Groups Added to the Counter

Ablaze has its evangelism counter and BJS has its Confessional Reading Groups counter. The news in the synod lately and my recent vacation have distracted me from keeping the counter up to date.

It is important for us to keep an eye on such news items as the Texas District Youth Gathering and the Synod Convocation but our most important work here is to promote an organization that gets individuals and groups into the Lutheran Confessions so it is with great joy that we add to our ticker. In the long run it is men (and women) with a deep understanding of the scriptures as taught in the Lutheran Confessions that will make for congregations and a church body that are God-pleasing.

Since we last updated the list we have received word about Confessions reading groups in Oregon, St. Louis and Oklahoma. The group in Pensacola, Fl is no longer meeting so we have gained three but lost one. You can see the details at our confessions group counter.

Over the weeks we will be giving you as much practical advice on what you can do to restore historic Lutheranism in the LCMS but we are convinced that this is the most important thing you can do. Start a Confessions reading group in you congregation or if your pastor will not endorse it, grab another member or two and get together on your own. Whether it is big or small, be sure to let us know and we will add it to the counter.

By the way, we have recently changed e-mail servers and may have lost some e-mails in the transition. If you submitted your reading group to us and do not see it on the site, please send us another e-mail at [email protected] and we will add it to the list.
