November 4th, 2008 Post by Pastor Tim Rossow

The Nebraska Confessional Lutherans are one of the many groups listed on our Confessions Study Group Counter  which can be viewed on the Confessional Growth section of the website. We recently received information on their next meeting. (We will be posting an update to the counter later today. There are groups popping up all over the country.)

The November gathering of the Nebraska Lutherans for Confessional Study will be held on Thursday, November 13th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3825 Wildbriar lane in Lincoln. Refreshments will be in the fellowship hall at 9:30 am followed by Matins at 10 am. Presenter for the morning session, starting at about 10:30, will be Rev. Brent Kuhlman, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Murdock. His topic will be Luther’s “Bondage of the Will,” beginning with Luther’s concluding remarks (LW 33:246-295). Following lunch, Rev. Paul Egger, pastor at St. John Lutheran Church in Galva, IA will lead the afternoon topic. His topic, starting at about 1 pm, will be “The Treatise on the Power and Primacy of the Pope”. Meeting will conclude by 2:30 pm. Everyone is invited, both clergy and laity. A free-will offering will be taken to help defray expenses.
