The start of a new church year is coming. As has become custom here at Steadfast we are working up a series for Advent which will include a devotional (look for that early to mid-November). This year’s series is titled “For Unto Us a Son is Given” borrowing the language of Isaiah 9. The midweek services for this are crafted around three important sons of promise (Isaac, Samuel, John) and then the idea is to use the Fourth Sunday in Advent (Dec 24 this year) to see the fulfillment in Christ (either Christmas Eve propers, or the second gospel option from the LSB One-Year lectionary for the Fourth Sunday in Advent).
