February in Texas! BJS Conference Dates Announced

Save the date – February 4-6, 2016 – the conference of the Brothers of John the Steadfast.  A theme and more details will follow, but here is what I can tell you right now:bjs save date

A NEW LOCATION – Zion Lutheran Church in Tomball, TX (not too far from Houston) – Get ready for some friendly Texas hospitality courtesy of the saints at Zion and their pastor, the Rev. Chris Hull.

LONGER CONFERENCE – Three days of speakers and fun instead of two

BREAKOUT SESSIONS – Not only will we have our normal major speakers, but there will also be breakout sessions as well.

CHILDCARE PROVIDED – Bring the kids.  We will have childcare provided.

EXPANDED NO PIETISTS ALLOWED PARTIES – Instead of the normal three, there will be likely five different events spanning the two nights.

OTHER GROUPS FROM STEADFAST LUTHERANS – Sisters of Katie Luther will be there; Steadfast Throwdown will be there; PLUS some surprise stuff that has yet to be released from “Steadfast Lutherans” [coming this Fall]

There are some more things in the works, and as soon as we finalize the topics and speakers we will announce both here and on our Facebook page.

  1. Hopefully a speaker from ACELC would be one such guest and a cigar smoking man too….

  2. Pr. Scheer, I am assuming since 2016 is convention year, the conference theme will nOT be on international confesional lutheranism, right ?

  3. Hopefuly liberal’s like the eastern district president will be invited who can explain why they believe why firing pastor’s is ok and open communion practices are ok too

  4. May God give them the strength to show up and for all parties to humbly hear each other. If we have no ANCHOR (aka Confession, BoC) then the winds of AmericanEvangelicalism and AmericanCulture will carry one which way … JAMES 1: 6 (http://biblehub.com/james/1-6.htm )

Why would you want to offer plane fare to the eastern district president? Texas district should be able to provide that speaker.
