The Fort to Provide Weekly Lectionary Podcast, by Pr. Rossow

CTSThe following is from an email I just received. This looks like a really great service to pastors and those laity who want to take a look.

Providing valuable resources for the clergy and laypeople of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) is a task the faculty of Concordia Theological Seminary takes seriously. The latest offering from the faculty is a weekly Lectionary Podcast based upon the Gospel reading for the upcoming Sunday from the three-year lectionary. The podcasts will be posted every Tuesday on the Seminary’s Facebook page,www.facebook.com/ctsfw, beginning November 25 with the reading for Advent 1. No login is required to view the podcast.

“Our Exegetical Department wants to share with the whole church a portion of the excitement that our weekly Greek Reading courses generate among our students.  Each podcast is focused on the Greek text of the Gospel lesson for the following Sunday, which is visible on our Smart Board.  We’re keeping the podcasts short, about 20 minutes, for busy pastors and church leaders who may benefit from a brief overview of the Greek text that includes some insights on how to preach and teach it,” explains Dr. Arthur A. Just Jr., chairman, CTS Exegetical Department. “This is one way the CTS Exegetical Department can fulfill the role of our seminary and her curriculum—teaching theology through the pastoral act of preparing for preaching from the Gospels. We hope that this will be received by the church as our way of serving them in what we do best, integration of theology and pastoral practice.”

The Seminary’s media site, media.ctsfw.edu, is another excellent option for resource material. Items available include theological articles, course videos, chapel sermons and other resources for the good of Christ’s Church.
