Listen Live to the “Vigil for Africa” from Naperville and Nairobi, by Pr. Rossow

The Brothers of John the Steadfast are joining up with Lutherans in Africa to support the building of a new Lutheran Center in Nairobi. The first public phase of this campaign begins tonight with a live-streamed prayer vigil from Bethany Lutheran Church in Naperville, Illinois and from the headquarters of Lutherans in Africa in Nairobi, Kenya.

The vigil is hosted by Worldview Everlasting’s creator Rev. Jonathan Fisk. There will be an hour of liturgical prayer starting at 9 PM Central Time in the United States and then an hour break for a live interview from Nairobi of Rev. James May, Director of Lutherans in Africa. That will be followed by an hour of prayer for Lutherans in Africa, all world missions and time for private petitions.

To view the live stream go to www.YouTube.com/revfiskj just before 9 PM central time.

Several congregations from around the country and the world are holding simultaneous vigils. To download the materials go to the Facebook page “Vigil for Africa.”

The new Lutheran Center will make the work of Lutherans in Africa more efficient and effective as students, pastors and evangelists from around the continent will come for far more extensive training than is provided by the current model.

The campaign to raise funds for the center will continue through the summer and into early fall. We encourage you to help us reach our $500,000 goal. You can do so by hosting a home gathering (we provide all the materials), having an LIA Sunday at your parish or by making an annual or monthly donation to the cause. For more information contact Pastor Rossow here at BJS (https://steadfastlutherans.com/?page_id=65) or go to the LIA website to make a donation.
