Pastor Jonathon Fisk — 7 “Christian” Rules that Every Christian Ought to Break as Often as Possible

The new CPH book BROKEN: 7 “Christian” Rules that Every Christian Ought to Break as Often as Possible, by our own Pastor Jonathon Fisk, is coming out soon. We previously announced it here. It is being promoted by WorldviewEverlasting on facebook.

We are pleased that his energy will make its way to the podium for upcoming BJS Conference in February as he joins Rev. James May and Pastor Bryan Wolfmueller for presentations on what it means to be Lutheran.

Here is the latest posting on facebook:

This type of thing used to scare me. What if my kids fell for the lies? Can they reason through the illogic of these arguments? Will they be able to spot the problems and not have their faith needlessly shaken?

Since becoming Lutheran and really digging deep into God’s Word, the Confessions and church history, I’ve learned that all the tools we need to face these arguments are already at hand, passed down to us from our fathers in the faith. And what makes me excited about this book as I start reading it is that Pastor Fisk is making those tools accessible and understandable in a whole new way.

If you struggle with how to address the argument in this image, this book will give you a good start for recognizing the problems while not having your faith BROKEN in the process. -PS

Also, the first excerpt and quote out of context here:

“He was a good kid. He played in a Christian band. He hung out with Christian friends. He lived the Christian life. He worked hard to get people saved. He struggled after God’s will for his life. He set aside time for prayer. He set aside time to play his guitar. He mixed the two together and sung out songs of praise to his heart’s content. Soon he’d go to college, and then he’d marry his girlfrie
nd. Maybe he’d be a pastor. Maybe he’d just be a worship leader. All he knew was that what he wanted for the rest of his life was to feel this way, to live this life, to know what he knew, and to find a way to help more people do the same.

Then he met a missionary.” – BROKEN, by Jonathan Fisk

I bet you know this story. Where do you think it’s going to end? -PS
