A new Lutheran fantasy novel for youth and adults is being unveiled at the BJS conference this weekend. Rev. Thomas Sabel has written a novel titled “The Prince Decides” which is the first in his “Legends of Luternia” series.
“The Prince Decides” teaches the importance of Word and Sacrament and the Church in the life of the Christian.
The book is published by Blue Pomegranate Press, the recently renamed Church and Ministry Press, and will be available on line sometime next week for $15 a copy. The author will be at the BJS conference and will be taking orders for signed copies.
Jim Pierce, author of “Wittenberg Confessions” (for more click here) will also be at the conference and will be signing copies of his book.
Here are the details from the back cover of “The Prince Decides:”
With the help of an ex-mercenary turned pastor, an over-educated, priggish dragon, and a map that continues to change, Prince Ulrik turns the tables on the evil Mage who sent him on a quest doomed to failure to regain the throne and restore the faith. The quest forces Ulrik to decide which is more important—duty to the crown or the love of a comfortable home he has always known.
Legends of Luternia: The Prince Decides is a Christian fantasy set in the land of Luternia where the prince’s adventures lead him to discover the importance of God’s Word and Sacraments. With a subtle hand, Thomas Sabel guides the reader into the importance of the church in the Christian’s life.
Thomas Sabel developed The Prince Decides from campfire stories told on family vacations. He is a Lutheran pastor who divides his time serving a small parish in Otis, Indiana, teaching at Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne and Ivy-Tech Community College, and writing. His work has appeared in various professional and literary journals. He lives with his wife and two sons in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
