Helping Pastors All Year Long — the Augustana Ministerium

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

Galatians 4:4–5

Dear friends in the Lord Jesus Christ,

Since the middle of the decade now closing, The Augustana Ministerium (link) has done what no one else is doing: taking care of pastors in distress and their families. Through the The Augustana Ministerium (TAM), a 501(c)(3) corporation, our donors have been God’s instrument to keep pastors’ families clothed and fed while paying high medical bills, to preserve them in their homes while awaiting a Call or other income to sustain them, to allow them to remain in the pulpit and at the altar of small churches while they figured out how to supplement their income through secondary vocations or to begin new missions.

The past few years have been rough for most of us financially, and this has kept TAM’s reserves from being what they need to be to provide the amount of help that is necessary for God’s servants to continue to serve Him without the distraction of the imminent financial collapse of their families. Therefore, we ask you to consider whether the Lord has blessed you in such a way as to be able to give toward the charitable work of the ministerium with a gift before year’s end. Since we are recognized by the IRS as a charitable not-for-profit corporation, your gift will be considered deductible for tax purposes. If you are not able to give at this time, we would welcome notes letting us know that you are praying for those who are suffering, that we may encourage them with such a notice of solidarity from those who share in faithfulness to Christ, but who are also struggling.

God grant you a blessed celebration of the coming of God the Son in the flesh, and a new year in which you take note of His consistently-renewed blessings.

The Administrative Council of The Augustana Ministerium

Praise God the Lord, ye sons of men,
Before His highest throne;
Today He opens heaven again
And gives us His own Son.

A wondrous change which He doth make!
He takes our flesh and blood,
And He conceals for sinners’ sake
His majesty of God.

He serves that I a lord may be;
A great exchange indeed!
Could Jesus’ love do more for me
To help me in my need?
