“Fathers’ Day” in May with Pastor Weedon (by Pr. Charles Henrickson)

I received a note about an upcoming seminar in the St. Louis area and thought I’d pass it on. Pastor Weedon is a knowledgeable and engaging speaker, and his topic sounds interesting. CH

What the Early Church Fathers Have to Do with Our Faith Today
A Presentation on Teachers in the Early Church
With Pastor William Weedon

Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, located at 612 N. State Street in Freeburg, IL, will host a presentation on the Church Fathers on Saturday, May 15th, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Pastor William Weedon, a dynamic speaker, popular guest on “Issues, Etc.” and student of the Early Church will be our guest presenter. He will tell us about some of the Fathers of the Church in the early centuries of Christianity and what they have to do with the Christian faith today.

His presentation will include four 45-minute segments telling the stories of those early Christians. The segments will cover how Christians today should view the Fathers and what those Fathers have to say about grace alone, faith alone, and Scripture alone.

Lunch will be provided. While there is no cost to attend the seminar or for lunch, a free-will offering will be taken to help cover expenses.

To register for the event or for more information, e-mail [email protected], call the church office at 618-539-5664, or call Leslie Sramek, the event coordinator, at 618-972-6577. Please register by Monday, May 10th, so that we can provide enough food and materials for everyone.

We look forward to seeing you on May 15th!
