New resource – LCMSpolitics.org

Brothers —

We are in the process of developing a new resource, LCMSpolitics.org .. if you are interested in helping us develop this, please register on the site then drop me a note telling me what area you would like to expand on. This is a WIKI, so anyone can edit pages on the site (well, we’ve limited it to registered users who have contacted us, but you get the idea).

Can you find information on your district convention? Post that information on the site so that others in your area know about it!

We’ve seen articles posted in different portions of the web over the past few months talking about proposed overtures, talking about the blue ribbon report, analyzing what happened at the first district convention, etc. We’d like to gather links to as many of these as possible so there is one place that someone can go to locate information on this convention season.

Even if you don’t want to help us, please comment on the site giving us other resources that should be added to it. Do you have organizational skills — can you see the big picture and know how the information we are gathering should be organized to make it easier for people to find? Help us out with that!

We will have further announcements here as the site develops.

One question I really have — WHY do all the districts set such huge time limits on their overture submission? In CID, overtures must be submitted by March 15th. The floor committes don’t meet until May 2nd! Surely there isn’t 6 weeks worth of work that the district has to do on the submitted overtures before the floor committees meet to go over them? Has anyone been involved in the process and know what actually happens between overture submission and floor committee meetings?
