Another New Chapter Founded – St. Paul Lutheran – Lockport, Illinois

The Brothers of John the Steadfast have added another chapter. It is located at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lockport, Illinois. This is now our tenth chapter. As we have reported before, we are pleased to have chapters far and wide around the country in such places as Florida, California, New York, Texas and of course the Midwest. We also have a chapter across the border in Canada.

The chapter in Lockport is already strong and will certainly be a leader in the Brothers of John the Steadfast organization. They already have about 15 men at their get-togethers. They are associated with the congregational Men’s Bible Breakfast. (You can see their page on St. Paul’s website by clicking here.) They also have excellent pastoral leadership in Rev. Mark Hein. You may recognize that name since Pastor Hein writes the men’s leadership column  for BJS. Pastor Hein has been at St. Paul’s for years. He has served on several committees of the Northern Illinois District, including the board of directors. His church also hosts the monthly meeting of the Northern Illinois Confessional Lutherans, who also post on the BJS site. The lay leader of the group is Michael Polinski. Ross Wardenburg is a member the chapter also. Ross is a frequent commenter on the website and has been  on the Brothers of John the Steadfast steering committee from day one. As a testimony to the confessional nature of St. Paul’s, Ross and his family drive nearly a half hour across the Chicago suburbs to attend St. Paul’s because it is the nearest confessional church.

Welcome to the Brothers of John the Steadfast at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Lockport. We look forward to your leadership in the organization.
