The Brothers Continue to Grow: New Chapter Started in Marshall, Michigan

Amisdt all this discussion about Concordia Chicago professors wrongly signing a petiton in support of William Ayers, it is a joy to report that the Brothers have added a new chapter. As more and more chapters are added we are making the LCMS a stronger synod that is committed to being a denomination that confesses the truth of scripture against the whims and the rebellious nature  of the culture.

Yesterday (Saturday) Zion Lutheran Church in Marshall, Michigan held its first Brothers of John the Steadfast chapter meeting. Ten laymen got together to study the Book of Concord with Pastor Roger James. Two of the laymen came from surrounding congregations. The chapter leader is Dan Burfiend.

BJS steering committee member Dr. Erich Heidenreich is a member of Zion and was instrumental in getting the group started. We are sorry to report that Dr. Heidenreich needs to leave the steering committee because of family commitments. He will remain a member of the local chapter. We thank Erich for all his work in these hectic first few months of start-up.

The next get together of the Zion chapter wilol be held at a local pizza joint so that they can enjoy the “Lutheran beverage” along with their study. This group has certainly been checking out our “No Pietists Allowed” pages.

The Zion group is the  seventh chapter to start up in BJS’s short  four months of existence. We also have chapters in Iowa, California, Florida, New York, Kansas and Illinois.

We invite you to join this growing group either as an individual or by forming a local chapter.
