She’s a Party Animal!

Some of our comments are so good I have to make sure you all get a chance to read them. This one comes from Gayle in response to the “Bred Lutheran” column.

“I, too, am bred Lutheran and in some ways I feel closer to being what Martin Luther had in mind for a Christian when he read the Scriptures than some of my friends who are in families that have been Lutheran for generations. I may feel closer, yet not superior, for I know I have also come to the party late. I was late because I had been invited to so many other parties that had some cheap party favors to offer, but no real attendance gifts. It is the gifts given by Christ, expressed in the Lutheran doctrine and practice that made me realize how empty those other parties had been. Now I am a party animal and show up whenever I can to receive my gifts which just keep on giving. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. i am so glad I received His invitation and was led through the Christ, the open door.”

(BTW – I know we are lacking in RSS feeds and other goodies that will make it easier to navigate the site, the posts and the comments. It is on our list of things to do. With our uniquely large and interconnected site it is a little more complex than it may seem. Pastor Rossow)

  1. Regarding the feeds…

I know not everyone uses Google products or even the same feed readers, but I’m able to read the content on this site with Google Reader just fine. I know you guys have more to work on to make it more universal, but it can be done as it sits right now.

Love what you all are doing.

  2. I think the major problem with RSS is that comments are not on the feeds, so for the person who wants to read new comments to the articles posted here, you have to scan through each article.

Allen–I added steadfastlutherans to my google reader (Thanks for the tip!) but all I appear to get are the articles themselves, not comments to them. Am I doing something wrong?

I love the site, and eagerly await further postings, but do find it difficult to keep track of discussion going on.

  3. I am also a “party animal”. I love going on my weekly date with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
You’ve heard of men who know how to treat a lady?
Well, my Lord sure knows how to treat a sinner!!!

There’s music, candles, and best of all–He feeds me with His Word, and His own Body and Blood.
These are excellent party gifts, and the spiritual food of Christ’s own Body and Blood actually imparts the forgiveness of sins.

If you want to join me at the party, and are in the area, all are welcome to come to our services at 8 or 10:30am, and our Bible Study at 9:15am.
